Julianne Moore Wins Golden Globe For Best Actress In “Still Alice”
Julianne Moore won a Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in Still Alice. In the film, Moore plays a professor at Columbia University with diagnosed early onset Alzheimer’s disease. Still Alice was based on Lisa Genova’s novel from 2007. The film was called “magisterial” by the Telegraph’s film critic. Moore, 54, beat fellow nominees Felicity Jones, Rosamund Pike, Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon for the award. Moore was also nominated for the Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical category for her role in Maps to the Stars , but she was defeated by Amy Adams for her role in Big Eyes . In her speech, Moore thanked the film’s cast and crew. “My mother always told me that a happy person was someone who had work and love,” she said.
